Privacy policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how 314stack ("314stack", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile applications we publish (collectively, the "Services"). This policy applies regardless of where an app is distributed, including the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. We are committed to being transparent about exactly what each app does with your data.

This is the master policy that applies to all 314stack apps. Because our apps handle different kinds of data, the per-app data practices section below states precisely what each individual app collects, shares, and retains. If an app's store listing references this URL as its privacy policy, the disclosures here govern that app.

1. Summary

  • Our two current apps, Cadence and Wayther, handle data very differently. Cadence works fully offline with no account required and keeps your focus data on your device, while Wayther requires an account and a network connection to generate route weather forecasts.
  • Cadence stores your focus sessions, categories, habits, goals, and streaks on your device, with no account and no cloud sync. Its free version shows ads (Google AdMob), and it can send anonymous crash and product-usage diagnostics only if you turn them on (they are off by default).
  • Wayther collects your start and destination, and optionally your current location, to generate route weather forecasts. It does not track you in the background.
  • We never sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
  • You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via our Data Deletion page or from within the app.

2. Information we collect

The specific data each app handles is listed in the per-app data practices section. Across our Services, the categories of information we collect are:

a. Account information

Only Wayther requires an account. You may sign in with Google Sign-In (OAuth), which provides us with your Google account email address as your account identifier, or with a phone number verified via a one-time SMS code, which provides us with your phone number as your account identifier. We use Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in. We do not receive your Google password.

Cadence does not require an account and is fully usable without one. It has no sign-in and no cloud backup; your focus data stays on your device. Cadence's in-app feedback feature uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which creates only a random, pseudonymous token, not an account or a sign-in.

b. Location information

Cadence does not use location at all. It does not request location access in any form, foreground or background.

Wayther: optional foreground location. Wayther may access your device's current location, but only if you choose to use it as your trip's starting point. Wayther does not access location in the background and does not track your position during or after a trip.

c. App data you create

Cadence stores the focus sessions, categories, habits, goals, streaks, and settings you create. This data lives only on your device and is not sent to us; Cadence has no cloud backup or sync. Wayther stores the start and destination locations of trips you choose to save, associated with your account.

d. Information collected automatically

Standard server logs when you visit this website (IP address, browser type, pages requested) are retained briefly for security and aggregate analytics. We may collect basic crash diagnostics to help us fix bugs; where we do, each app discloses this in its store listing.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the core features: running focus timers and showing your time, recaps, and streaks in Cadence; generating route weather forecasts in Wayther.
  • To maintain your account and let you sign in across sessions, where an account applies.
  • To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles or share it with ad networks. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. No data collected by our apps is shared with data brokers or used for cross-app or cross-site ad targeting.

4. Data sharing and third-party processors

We share data only as described below and in the per-app disclosures. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

  • Firebase Authentication (Google LLC): manages Google Sign-In and phone-number sign-in for Wayther. Your authentication credentials are processed under Google's privacy policy. Cadence has no user sign-in; its feedback feature uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which creates only a random, pseudonymous token, not an account.
  • Google AdMob (Google LLC, Cadence): serves ads in the free version of Cadence and may use your device's advertising ID. If you buy Cadence Plus, the ad system is never started.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC, Cadence): receives anonymous crash diagnostics from Cadence only when you enable them (off by default).
  • Firebase Analytics (Google LLC, Cadence): receives anonymous product-usage analytics from Cadence only when you enable them (off by default).
  • Google Play Billing (Google LLC, Cadence): processes Cadence Plus purchases.
  • Cloud Firestore / Firebase Anonymous Authentication (Google LLC, Cadence): stores anonymous in-app feedback you choose to send.
  • Weather data provider (Wayther): your route start and end points and estimated timing are sent to a third-party weather service to retrieve forecasts for each leg of your journey.
  • Routing and maps provider (Wayther): your route start and end points are sent to a third-party routing service to calculate directions, ETA, and pitstop suggestions.
  • App store distribution services: Google Play and the Apple App Store handle app distribution and updates, each governed by their respective terms.

5. Notifications

Cadence uses local notifications only, shown on your own device for focus and break alerts and a live timer notification. These are generated on-device and are not a form of data sharing; nothing is sent to us or to anyone else to show them.

6. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following bases:

  • Contract performance: to provide the features you signed up for (route forecasts in Wayther; processing your Cadence Plus purchase via Google Play).
  • Consent: for Cadence's optional crash and usage diagnostics (off by default); you may withdraw consent at any time in the app's settings.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping the Services secure and operational.
  • Legal obligation: retaining records where required by law.

7. Data storage, retention, and security

Cadence's data is stored only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Cadence has no account and no cloud backup, so there is no server-side copy of your focus data. Wayther account data and saved trips are stored on servers, protected with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest where applicable, and retained until you delete them or your account.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete account) or via our Data Deletion page. When you request deletion, all personal data associated with your account is removed. Temporary deactivation does not substitute for deletion.

8. Your rights and choices

  • Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
  • Turn Cadence's optional crash and usage diagnostics on or off at any time in the app's settings (they are off by default).
  • Withdraw consent for optional diagnostics in the app's settings.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request a portable copy of your data, where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, delete your account from within the app (Settings → Delete account), use our Data Deletion page, or email us at tech.314stack@gmail.com.

9. Children's privacy

Our apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Per-app data practices

The spec tables below state what each 314stack app does with data. These disclosures are authoritative and are kept consistent with each app's store data-safety and privacy nutrition label declarations (Google Play Data Safety and Apple App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels).

Cadence: data collected

  • Free version only: your device's advertising ID, used by Google AdMob to show ads.
  • Your Cadence Plus purchase status, used to unlock the ad-free version (via Google Play Billing).

Cadence: data shared

  • All your focus data stays on your device and is never uploaded or synced.
  • Only the data above is shared with Google, acting as our processor: the advertising ID for ads (free version), and, when you turn them on, anonymous crash and analytics events. We never sell your data.

Cadence: what we do not collect or do

  • No account or sign-in is required, and there is no cloud sync or backup.
  • We do not collect your location, contacts, or any sensitive data.
  • Your focus content, notes, and category names are never sent off your device.
  • We never sell your data.

Retention: Your Cadence data lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data; there is no account or server-side copy to delete. If you include your email when sending feedback, you can ask us to delete that feedback at any time.

Retention: Saved trips and account data are kept until you delete them. You can remove your account and associated data at any time, from the app or our Data Deletion page.

11. International data transfers

Some of our third-party processors (including Google Firebase and Google AdMob for Cadence, and weather and routing providers for Wayther) may process data in countries other than your own. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information during such transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice (such as an in-app notification). Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13. Cookies and local storage

We keep our use of cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage) to a minimum, and we group them into two categories:

  • Strictly necessary: required for this website to function and to remember your cookie choice and basic preferences. These are always active and do not require consent.
  • Optional (analytics): help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. These are set only with your consent, which we request through the cookie banner shown on your first visit. We never use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

You can accept or decline optional cookies from the banner, and change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. Declining optional cookies does not affect your access to the website.
